...since I am hardly an expert in stuff like this, I researched everything I could find about it and after I gave it to my wife (who knows a LOT about this stuff) for Christmas, she said she'd love me forever!I'll take her word for it - about both things!

I really wanted a new cookware set and I was looking for the best one out there. I did not want to limit myself by any price limits, I just simply wanted the best. After many sleepless nights due to my extensive research I decided to get this set based on the facts that it was made in France (French know how to cook, right), it was high quality copper (and copper supposed to be the best one for cooking), and it was a reputable brand. When the set arrived, it was absolutely beautiful - you can leave it out and admire the beauty. I was in love with it from the 'first sight'. When I started to take every item out of the box, I noticed that the bigger items were very heavy (I am not a big woman and I have small hands). I decided to test the largest sauce pan and boil some potatoes. The water got hot very fast and the potatoes were ready in 15 minutes - great! However, when I wanted to drain the water out, this is when the harsh reality settled.First, the top handle gets so hot that you cannot take the top off with you bare hands.Second, the pot (now filled with water) is so heavy that I had to hold it with both hands. The bigger challenge is the beautifully designed handles with sharpe ridge that are very slippery. I could not pour out the water holding the pot with one hand and holding a lid with another. I could not even pour out the water with both hands - I bruised my hand and now have a blue sore palm.Third, when I gently washed the pot immediately and dried it, I noticed a line from the water and white spots on the bottom of the pot. If I only used it once, what will happen in a year?I am crushed and disappointed. I read so many reviews, my eyes were tired. I thought I am getting the best set, but now I am going to return it. Very sad - it is not worth the money.
