I think my shipment was a refurbished one...

I have been thinking about purchasing this cookware for a while because I think it is a bit pricey but I trust Brandes quality. Anyway, I order the set from Amazon for my birthday with such anticipation. My excitement was turned into a disappointment, when I unwrapped the product and saw the holes and black scratches on the cookware. On one of the tempered glass lids, the connection to the ream was broken and I have pictures to proof it.It is quite aggravating because I cannot return the products as I am overseas on assignment and will be here for a while. I chose not to pay excessive shipping cost back to the USA to return the product. It is quite reasonable for me to expect to receive a brand new, undamaged product. I fulfilled my responsibility the minute I paid the asking price and the shipping fee.I am mad and very disappointed in Berndes for failing to provide quality control before sending their product to their customer. I have paid in full and the product I received was defective and unacceptable. Berndes says "Since 1921, we have designed and manufactured high-quality, functional and practical cookware that stands out from mass produced cookware." Well, "manufacturer of high-quality" has failed me- some stand out from the mass produced cookware. Unfortunately, I have to live with it and it is very unpleasant to cook with your brand new cookware that looks like a hand me down.My intention to purchase a set for my mom has completely been gone. I will not purchase another product from Berndes and will tell all my friends about it until Berndes fixes this mistake.Regards,Ebru
